Nigerian soldiers killed in crash
At least 43 Nigerian soldiers have been killed in a road accident in the north of the country, according to the Nigerian military.
The soldiers were in a convoy of vehicles travelling to their base when one of the vehicles collided with an oncoming petrol tanker.
An army spokesman said others were injured and receiving treatment. One report said the soldiers had just returned from a peacekeeping mission in the Sudanese region of Darfur.
