Assou-Ekotto signs new Spurs deal/sports in africa
Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has signed a new contract that will keep him with the club until 2013.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international marked his 64th appearance for the club with his first senior goal in the 2-1 home win over Liverpool on Sunday.
And he has now committed his future to the Londoners having made the left-back spot his own under boss Harry Redknapp.
"He has done very well," Redknapp said at the end of last season. "I have been very impressed with him."
Assou-Ekotto's form earned the French-born player his first caps for Cameroon earlier this year.
And with his previous deal believed to be due to expire at the end of the campaign, a fresh contract ends any speculation over his future.
