Mido fined over training absence/african sport
Mido will continue to be fined by English club Middlesbrough as long as he fails to report for training.
The Egypt striker, 26, did not arrive back for pre-season training with his team-mates a fortnight ago, and has already been fined two weeks' wages.
"It's very simple - Mido has to get himself back and into training with us," said Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate.
"This club will not be paying anybody who is not in training with us."
Southgate also insisted Mido, who spent the end of last season on loan at Wigan, must return to the club before his future can be discussed.
"We will deal with what happens after that as and when he's ready to join in with that training, but nothing will knock us off what we want to achieve," added Southgate.
"The players that want to be here have to have the focus they have showed so far and put the other distractions to one side."
Mido signed for Boro from Tottenham Hotspur for £6m in August 2007.
